The ‘Apple’ man dies at 56

I just read about the departure of Steve Jobs, yesterday 5 Oct. likely from pancreatic cancer, though Apple hasn’t announced the exact cause of his death.
A man who has inspired us about creativity and innovation, a man who knew nothing about failure. It is not that he never failed or he never been rejected. In fact at one time, he was rejected from a company that he himself formed, Apple inc! However, Steve Jobs was never deterred. He just kept going, he kept innovating. Never looked back. Ousted from Apple he founded the Pixar studio that shortly released a top box office film Toy Story followed by series of other hihgly successful studio works. Meanwhile Apple inc was facing lost after lost, till Jobs was back, in fact when he was taken back, he was appointed as an ‘interim CEO’ – refused to be belittled by this title, he coined the term ‘iCEO’ that was the beginning of something – years later when series of ‘i’ products by Apple came out exploding to the market.

Even seriously ill with his cancer, Jobs never gave up. Nowadays, iPhone, iPAD, iPOD have become household items of people the world over. Steve Jobs has left a great legacy, of how a person can make a difference in this world, only by being positive and proactive. Success is not about sheer brilliance, strength or abundance, it is about persistence, consistency and personal resolve.

“Being the richest man in the cemetery does not matter to me…going to bed at night saying we have done something wonderful…that’s what matters to me”

and…why he never gave up? “I am the only person I know that’s lost a quarter billion dollars in one year…It’s very character building”

And this quote of his will wake you up:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living by other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinion drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become.”
